What was the last thing you did for play or fun?
I play with the dog every day. That’s fun. Grandchildren are too old to play – well- that’s what they tell me. I play some carols on the keyboard. That’s fun until I realise I am playing flats that should be sharps, etc. That’s definitely more fun accompanied by the hard work – the practice. Music doesn’t fill you with joy if there are too many mistakes.
I find that if I consciously decide to have fun, it’s likely to be a disappointment. I much prefer to find that sense of enjoyment and satisfaction when it arrives unplanned. That way – ten times the enjoyment and ten times the satisfaction.
